Privacy Policy
DigitalWarranty provides a warranty registration and claims platform on behalf of the brands and manufacturers ("Brands") who use it. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Who we are
DigitalWarranty is operated by J Tech. When you register a product or file a claim, you do so with a specific Brand; we process that information as the Brand's service provider (data processor), and the Brand is the controller of their customers' data.
2. Information we collect
- Registration details — product, serial number, purchase/installation dates, and the attributes the Brand asks for.
- Contact details — name, email, phone, and (if you create an account) a password, stored only as a secure hash.
- Claim details — the information and any files you submit when filing a claim, plus its status history.
- Technical data — basic logs needed to operate the service securely (e.g., IP address, timestamps).
3. How we use it
- To register and verify your warranty and issue your warranty card.
- To process and communicate about claims you (or your installer) file.
- To send service emails (registration confirmations, claim updates).
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
4. Brands & data separation
Each Brand's data is logically separated. A Brand can only see the registrations and claims made with them. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
5. Sharing & disclosure
We share information with the Brand you registered with (and its authorised installers/sellers for the purpose of handling your warranty and claims), with sub-processors that help us run the service (e.g., email delivery, hosting), and where required by law.
6. Data retention
We retain warranty and claim records for as long as the Brand needs them to honour warranties and meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymise them.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, per-tenant isolation, access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to certain processing. As most data is controlled by the Brand, please contact them first; we will assist them in responding to your request.
9. International transfers
DigitalWarranty operates globally and may process data in countries other than your own, with appropriate safeguards.
10. Cookies
We use only the cookies necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the service securely. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
